The Four Types of Heat Pumps

1. Forced Air - Commonly used in homes and businesses today. Conventional duct work distributes hot or cold air and provides humidity control. Econar offers two forced air configurations.

Vertical: These heat pumps resemble a standard furnace and direct the air vertically. Both up-flow and down-flow models are available.

Horizontal: These units are laid down and have a horizontal air path. The fit in crawl spaces and above suspended ceilings.

2. Hydronic - These heat pumps heat or chill water which is used in a wide variety of residential and commercial specialized distribution systems: radiant floor, fan coils, ice rinks, fish farms, snow melts, car washes, dairy farms or any other application that requires heated or chilled water.

3. Combination - They offer the best of both forced air and hydronic in one unit. In addition to the standard forced air heating and cooling capabilities, combination units also offer hydronic distribution for operations such as radiant floors and fan coils.

4. Domestic Hot Water - These heat pumps are designed for both residential and commercial applications. For heavy hot water usage such as a whirlpool or hot tub, it has the ability to heat more water than a conventional hot water heater and saves you money. For extended water usage such as hospitals, schools, industrial facilities, car washes and laundromats the domestic water heater is perfect.
